My Story

The Full Story

Balancing my career and family, I have always struggled with having time to directly serve my greater purpose.  A purpose centered around “Loving your neighbor as yourself.” Mark 12:32.   I have always felt a calling to do more; to be more directly involved in helping my “neighbors”.    Direct involvement for me means boots on the ground serving.  Every time I serve, I feel like I receive more than I give.  I give of my time, effort, and resources, but I receive so much more in joy, connection, and fulfillment.

In June of 2024, I was unexpectedly restructured out of my executive corporate position.  For the first time in over 25 years, I had the time to explore and invest in my greater purpose.   I dove into volunteering with a variety of organizations.  Like my experiences before, this investment was invaluable.  It brought so much joy, perspective, and energy to my life.  Energy to want to serve others even more.  It also introduced me to so many amazing people.  Those who live altruistically every day and those who benefit from their selfless generosity.   Their stories were truly inspirational.

This experience helped clarify how I wanted to bring my greater purpose to life.  Yes, it was clear that I wanted to serve more, give more, and learn more.  However, the one thing that stood out to me during my experiences was the people.  It was clear to me that I wanted to create a forum for their stories to be shared more broadly to inspire others to live altruistically.

Live Altruistically
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
